Wilmot is a Certified Financial Planner, Trust and Estate Practitioner, Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Health Insurance Specialist with more than 20 years experience. He holds a degree in Mathematics for Commerce and has held progressive positions in the areas of tax and estate planning, financial planning, banking, and securities analysis. Wilmot’s specialization includes personal and corporate tax planning, retirement planning and estate planning. He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF), the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Estate Planning Council of Canada (EPCC).
Vanessa Sarveswaran
Vanessa is a tax specialist with a master’s in taxation and an estate planning lawyer called to the bar of Quebec in 2015. She specializes in tax planning for corporations and trusts as well as post-mortem and succession planning. She also provides tax advice to high-net-worth individuals. Vanessa is a member of the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF), the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF), the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Young Bar Association of Montreal and also performs volunteer work with the Clinique Juridique de Saint-Michel. Prior to joining CI GAM, Vanessa worked at a renowned tax law firm based in Montreal and at a major accounting firm.
Matt Trotta
Matt is a tax specialist and an estate planning lawyer called to the bar of Alberta in 2013. He specializes in post-mortem tax and estate planning, as well as tax planning for trusts and owner-managed businesses. Matt is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), holding the TEP designation, has completed Levels 1-3 of the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Program, and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF). Prior to joining CI, Matt worked in the tax and estate groups at regional and national law firms, as well as a tax boutique firm. Matt also acquired in-house legal experience at one of Canada’s largest trust companies, where he provided internal legal advice, and estate and trust planning guidance to clients, advisors, and trust officers.
Catherine Hung
Catherine is a tax accountant who holds her CPA, CA with CPA Ontario. She is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF). Prior to joining CI GAM, Catherine worked at one of the top accounting firms where she dedicated her services to high-net-worth families, including shareholders of private and public corporations. She specializes in tax planning for individuals, corporations, and trusts, including post-mortem, estate, and succession planning.
